PNP-HPG Recovers 3 Vehicles In Bulacan, Maguindanao Del Norte Operations

The Philippine National Police–Highway Patrol Group recovered three vehicles in separate anti-carnapping operations in Bulacan and Maguindanao del Norte on July 1.

The operations were conducted by the Regional Highway Patrol Unit 3 and the Regional Highway Patrol Unit–Bangsamoro Autonomous Region as part of the PNP-HPG’s campaign against carnapping and fraudulent vehicle transactions.

In Meycauayan City, Bulacan, personnel of the Bulacan Provincial Highway Patrol Team recovered a Toyota Rush after it was flagged down for traffic violations during an anti-carnapping operation.

Police said verification showed that the vehicle remained encumbered with Philippine Savings Bank and was allegedly involved in an assume-balance scheme.

In a separate operation along McArthur Highway in Barangay Bangkal, also in Meycauayan City, authorities recovered a Toyota Vios allegedly linked to another assume-balance scheme.

The PNP-HPG said the vehicle remained under financing with Toyota Financial Services Philippines.

Meanwhile, in Parang, Maguindanao del Norte, personnel of the Special Operations Team of RHPU-BAR recovered a 2025 Nissan pick-up through an intelligence-driven operation.

Investigation showed that the vehicle had been reported by its registered owner in connection with a carnapping complaint involving a failed assumption of mortgage arrangement.

All three vehicles are now under the custody of the concerned Highway Patrol Units for documentation, verification, and appropriate legal proceedings.

PNP-HPG Director Brig. Gen. Rommel Batangan commended the operating units and said the group would continue pursuing carnapping and fraudulent motor vehicle schemes.

“The Highway Patrol Group remains relentless in combating carnapping and fraudulent motor vehicle transactions. Through intensified checkpoint operations, intelligence-driven policing, and close coordination with the public, we will continue to recover unlawfully acquired vehicles and protect the rights of legitimate owners. We also encourage the public to exercise due diligence before entering into any motor vehicle transaction to avoid becoming victims of fraudulent schemes,” Batangan said.
