The Philippine National Police (PNP) has successfully dismantled a drug distribution attempt following a buy-bust operation in Davao City that led to the arrest of a 22-year-old male alias “BAI,” and the seizure of a substantial volume of suspected shabu and a firearm.
The operation was conducted on the evening of May 14, 2026, in Barangay Bago Gallera, Davao City.
The operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 2.3 kilograms of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of PHP 15.64 million, along with a .357 caliber revolver loaded with ammunition. The successful operation prevented the illegal drugs from reaching communities and highlighted the continuing coordination among anti-drug enforcement units in addressing narcotics-related activities.
PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., lauded the operating units for the swift action, stressing the importance of sustained pressure against illegal drug networks.
“Patuloy ang ating kampanya laban sa illegal drugs. Hindi tayo titigil hangga’t may mga ganitong banta sa ating komunidad. At the same time, we always ensure that our operations are conducted properly and with respect for due process,” PGen Nartatez said.
The operation reflects the PNP’s continuing intelligence-driven campaign against illegal drugs and related criminal activities through sustained law enforcement operations and inter-unit coordination.
The arrested suspect is now under police custody while appropriate charges are being prepared for filing in court.
The PNP emphasized that sustained anti-illegal drug operations remain part of its commitment to public safety and community protection in line with the call for “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”
