The Philippine Military Academy has turned over a new officers’ quarters at Fort del Pilar in Baguio City as part of continuing efforts to improve military personnel facilities and support the Academy’s modernization program.

The blessing and ceremonial turnover of the Military Barracks Building Type 1, or Officers’ Quarters, was held on June 23, 2026.

The ceremony was led by PMA Superintendent Vice Admiral Caesar Bernard Valencia PN, together with representatives from the Department of Public Works and Highways-Cordillera Administrative Region, including Architect Caesar Romel Quindara and Engineer April Joy Aliso.

The activity included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and the blessing of the facility, led by Colonel Leo Balanlay CHS (GSC), Command Chaplain.

The new officers’ quarters was implemented under the Department of National Defense-Department of Public Works and Highways Convergence and Special Support Program and funded under Fiscal Year 2024.

It forms part of the government’s TIKAS Program, or “Tatag ng Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad,” a national security infrastructure initiative aimed at improving facilities for the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

The two-story building has a total floor area of 737.43 square meters and can accommodate 36 to 40 occupants.

PMA said the facility is intended to provide military personnel with safer, more functional, and more comfortable living quarters, reflecting continuing government support for the welfare and working environment of uniformed personnel.

The turnover also supports PMA’s broader infrastructure development efforts as the Academy prepares for a projected increase in cadet population.

By expanding support facilities for personnel and cadets, the Academy said it aims to strengthen the learning, training, morale, welfare, and leadership development environment at Fort del Pilar.
