The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) formally launched the Bagong Pilipinas AI and Scale-Up Center on August 11 at the DTI Office in Makati City, establishing a dedicated convergence hub to help local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and tech startups adopt artificial intelligence and expand into international markets.
Designed as a collaborative business and technology space, the new center will enable homegrown enterprises to explore practical AI applications, access professional networks, connect with industry mentors and investors and develop market-ready solutions aimed at integrating local businesses into global supply chains.
Technology provider Converge Solutions ICT served as a key partner in developing and launching the facility, helping build the infrastructure intended to bring together local enterprises and technology innovators.
The launch showcased Philippine-developed products and services aligned with priority sectors under the government’s Tatak Pinoy Strategy, specifically information technology-business process management (IT-BPM), electronics and electrical devices, and semiconductors. Featured companies presenting their innovations included Redfox Technologies, Xinyx Design Consultancy and Services Inc. and International Precision Assemblies Inc.
DTI said the establishment of the AI and Scale-Up Center forms part of the agency’s broader strategy to foster innovation, drive industry collaboration and bolster the global competitiveness of Filipino enterprises.
