The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) paid tribute to LTGen Fernando M. Reyeg and ten other distinguished generals and flag officers during a Testimonial Parade and Review at Borromeo Field, Fort del Pilar, on Saturday, June 27, 2026.
The honorees, recognized for their outstanding service across the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Philippine National Police (PNP), received the Outstanding PMA Alumnus Award (Ulirang Alumnus ng Akademiya), underscoring their dedication, leadership, and contributions to national security.
Among those celebrated were PBGen Matthew P. Baccay, BGen Michael A. Santos, BGen Juliano C. Llarenas, Commo Alex V. Gianan, BGen Jonathan M. Aquino, Commo Ireneo D. Battung, Commo Joselito E. de Guzman, Commo Luidegar C. Casis, BGen Antonio B. Dulnuan Jr., and BGen Medel M. Aguilar.
In his remarks, LTGen Reyeg reflected on his journey from cadet to Visayas Command chief, emphasizing the Academy’s role in shaping his career and values. “Being here rekindles memories of the place where my journey as a soldier and a leader first took place, where discipline was instilled, and where the ideals of courage, integrity, and loyalty were etched into my very being,” he said.
Reyeg urged cadets to prioritize resilience, continuous learning, and emotional intelligence alongside tactical skill, highlighting that leadership requires understanding the hopes, fears, and responsibilities of the people one commands.
The parade showcased the culmination of the retirees’ careers, celebrating decades of commitment, sacrifice, and exemplary service to the Filipino people. It also provided the Cadet Corps an opportunity to learn from the honorees’ experiences, drawing inspiration from their achievements and enduring dedication.
The ceremony carried deep symbolism as the retirees stood once more on Borromeo Field — a place that had witnessed their growth, challenges, and triumphs — honoring both their personal journeys and their unwavering service to the nation.
