The Philippine Army and the Malaysian Army have concluded their 12-day bilateral military exercise in Davao de Oro, aimed at strengthening interoperability, operational planning, and defense cooperation between the two forces.
Training Activity (TA) LAND MALPHI 24/2026 formally ended during a closing ceremony at the headquarters of the 10th Infantry “Agila” Division at Camp General Manuel T. Yan Sr. in Mawab, Davao de Oro, on June 11.
The exercise brought together military personnel from both countries for a series of professional engagements designed to enhance coordination and improve joint operational capabilities.
Senior military officials from the Philippines and Malaysia attended the closing ceremony, including 10th Infantry Division commander Maj. Gen. Alvin Luzon, 6th Malaysian Infantry Brigade commander Brig. Gen. Mohd Fouzi bin Sulaiman, and Malaysian Army Headquarters-G7 Director General for Training Brig. Gen. Dato’ Norazman bin Ismail.
In his message, Luzon said the activity helped deepen the long-standing partnership between the Philippine Army and the Malaysian Army while strengthening their shared commitment to regional peace and security.
“Through engagements such as TA LAND MALPHI, we enhance our professional military competence, strengthen bilateral cooperation, and reinforce our shared commitment to regional peace, stability, and security,” Luzon said.
He also thanked Philippine Army commanding general Lt. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete for supporting initiatives that advance military cooperation and regional partnerships.
The ceremony ended with the symbolic removal of exercise caps and armbands by representatives of both armies, marking the formal conclusion of the training activity.
Conducted annually, TA LAND MALPHI remains a key bilateral engagement between the Philippine and Malaysian armies to promote professional exchanges, improve interoperability, and strengthen defense ties.
