PCG, BI Seize Four Taiwanese Nationals in Waters Near Pasay Reclamation Area

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Bureau of Immigration (BI) conducted a joint law enforcement operation on June 11, 2026, resulting in the arrest of four Taiwanese nationals aboard the vessel M/Y Marauder near the Pasay Reclamation Development Project.

The operation followed a grounding incident involving the vessel on June 3. During routine maritime patrols, PCG personnel observed the ship engaged in improper waste disposal, prompting an inspection and the issuance of an Enforcement Inspection Apprehension Report (EIAR).

Coordination with the BI confirmed that the four foreign nationals had derogatory immigration records and were classified as undesirable aliens, subject to immigration proceedings.

Coast Guard Station Manila provided maritime security and operational support throughout the apprehension. The individuals were subsequently turned over to the BI for processing, including biometric identification under the Biometric Identification Transnational Migration Alert Program (BITMAP).

The operation underscores the PCG’s commitment to its iCARE (Intensified Community Assistance, Response, and Enforcement) campaign, reinforcing interagency collaboration, enforcing maritime laws, and safeguarding the Philippines’ territorial waters.
