PAGCOR Releases P65.6M in Relief for Typhoon, Monsoon Victims Across Luzon

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has deployed P65.60 million worth of emergency provisions to assist families affected by Tropical Cyclones Luis and Maymay, alongside the intensified southwest monsoon (Habagat), across Luzon and Metro Manila.

The initial aid package consists of 47,192 relief kits, divided into 23,596 food packs valued at P28.91 million and 23,596 non-food bundles worth P36.69 million.

PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco said response teams began distributing the supplies on August 8 following severe rainfall that submerged communities, halted public services and suspended classes across the island group.

“Calamities cause immediate burden on families, particularly when basic needs become difficult to secure. PAGCOR is committed to providing timely assistance to communities that need them most,” Tengco stated.

Distribution networks have targeted heavily impacted areas including Bulacan, La Union, Baguio City, Isabela, Nueva Ecija, Cavite, and Rizal, with additional goods reaching parts of Pangasinan, Quezon, Batangas, Camarines Norte, Abra, Laguna and Pampanga. In Metro Manila, relief operations focused on flood-prone zones in Marikina and Parañaque.

Tengco assured that PAGCOR will maintain its close coordination with local authorities and partner agencies throughout the ongoing recovery period.

“We will continue to stand with our kababayans in times of need. Through our continuing disaster response efforts, PAGCOR will do its part to help affected communities recover and get back on their feet,” he said.
