Five abandoned inbound parcels containing suspected illegal drugs were intercepted during a coordinated interdiction operation at the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) along Domestic Road, Pasay City on May 26, 2026.

The operation conducted was carried out by intelligence and interdiction personnel of Aviation Security Unit, National Capital Region, in coordination with the Bureau of Customs (BOC) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). The parcels were flagged during routine x-ray screening and further subjected to manual examination and K-9 inspection, which led to the discovery of various suspected dangerous drugs concealed in declared items such as canned goods, boxed products, and other packages.

Based on initial assessment, the seized items include suspected methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) or ecstasy, marijuana kush, cocaine, ketamine, ecstasy tablets, and other unidentified substances, with an estimated total street value exceeding ₱6.4 million.

The parcels were found abandoned and were reportedly consigned to multiple individuals in Pampanga and Cagayan de Oro, while the shipments originated from addresses in Canada and France.

The accomplishment supports the Philippine National Police’s focused agenda on Enhanced Managing Police Operations, in line with strengthened border control efforts under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the operatives and partner agencies for their vigilance and coordination.

“Patuloy ang ating pinaigting na operasyon laban sa ilegal na droga, lalo na sa mga entry points ng bansa. Ang ganitong tagumpay ay bunga ng maayos na pagtutulungan ng ating mga ahensya. Hindi tayo titigil—serbisyo at proteksyon para sa bawat Pilipino ang ating prayoridad,” PGen Nartatez said.

All recovered substances have been turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for proper laboratory examination and legal disposition.

The PNP reiterated its commitment to sustained border security operations as part of its campaign for a safer and drug-free Philippines, in line with the vision of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”
