The northbound lane of the EDSA–Quezon Avenue flyover was temporarily closed early Friday morning following an oil spill caused by a vehicular accident involving a tanker truck.
According to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the closure was implemented at around 5:45 am to allow authorities to address the hazardous road condition and ensure the safety of motorists.
During the closure, motorists heading northbound were advised to use the EDSA–Quezon Avenue service road as an alternate route while cleanup operations were underway.
Traffic personnel and emergency responders immediately attended to the scene to clear the spilled oil and restore normal traffic flow in the area.
In an update issued at 8:35 am, the MMDA announced that the affected portion of the flyover had been cleared and was once again passable to motorists.
The MMDA continues to remind drivers to exercise caution when traversing areas affected by road accidents and to follow traffic advisories to avoid delays and ensure safety.
