Manny Pacquiao is used to being in the spotlight, whether inside the boxing ring, in politics or at major public events.
But in Chicago, he was simply a father helping his daughter move into college.
Manny and Jinkee Pacquiao flew to the United States to help their 17-year-old daughter Queen Elizabeth “Queenie” Pacquiao settle into her dorm at Loyola University Chicago, where she is starting her freshman year.
Jinkee shared a video of the family arriving with Queenie’s belongings and helping her prepare her new room. She unpacked and arranged her daughter’s clothes, while Manny worked on the bed and fixed the sheets. Queenie and her older sister Princess also helped organize the space.
It was a simple family moment and a familiar scene for parents sending a child off to college.
Queenie graduated from Brent International School Manila in May 2026. She is the fourth of Manny and Jinkee’s five children, after Jimuel, Michael and Princess, and before their youngest, Israel.
Despite growing up with a famous surname, Queenie has recently caught public attention for her relatively low-key personality.
Earlier this year, she went viral after she was spotted shopping at an ukay-ukay store in Tagaytay with friends, browsing secondhand items and reacting to a ₱600 price tag.
“My friends invited me and they were like, ‘We’re going to this ukay-ukay place,’ and I was like, ‘Why not? Let’s go, I don’t mind,’” Queenie later said.
Asked whether the things she wears or uses always need to be branded, Queenie simply said they do not.
She has also taken a different direction when it comes to her studies.
Queenie chose Forensic Science at Loyola after previously considering law.
“I don’t know how I reached that point,” she said with a smile. “I generally was just looking around the courses, what course I could take…”
Like many incoming college students, Queenie appears to be exploring her interests as she figures out what she wants to pursue.
Her move to Chicago also gave the Pacquiaos a chance to spend time together as a family.
Before heading to Chicago, Manny, Jinkee and Queenie stopped in California, where they reunited with eldest son Jimuel, his wife Carolina and their daughter Clara.
Princess, who is studying in England, also flew to Chicago to join the family for Queenie’s move-in.
“It’s so nice to be back in Chicago, this time sending off my daughter to university. Such an exciting new chapter!” Manny wrote on social media.
In another post, the family summed up their time together with the words, “Happy and together.”
They also explored Chicago before Queenie settled into university life.
For Manny and Jinkee, the trip marked another milestone as one of their children begins building a life away from home.
Studying at Loyola University Chicago comes with a hefty price tag.
Undergraduate tuition has been estimated at $28,465 per semester, bringing tuition for an academic year to around $56,930, or roughly P3.49 million.
With room, board and other direct expenses included, the estimated annual cost could reach approximately $77,082, or P4.73 million. The figure does not yet include airfare, books, school supplies and personal expenses.
Beyond the cost, however, the Pacquiaos’ posts focused largely on the family experience of helping Queenie settle into her new home.
The move also reflects how Manny and Jinkee’s children are gradually pursuing their own paths.
Jimuel is in the United States with his own family, while Princess is studying in England. Queenie is now beginning college in Chicago, while youngest sibling Israel remains at home.
Queenie, meanwhile, appears to be settling into adulthood on her own terms, from her much-talked-about ukay-ukay shopping trip to her decision to pursue forensic science.
At her graduation, she described leaving high school and preparing for college as “bittersweet.”
“I’m gonna miss my friends, but I’m excited for college,” she said.
That excitement has now turned into reality.
With her family there to help with the bags, clothes and last-minute dorm preparations, Queenie is officially starting her college life in Chicago.
And for Manny and Jinkee, it was another parenting milestone as they watched their daughter take her next step away from home.
