The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) announced that Police Colonel Marlon Santos has been designated acting spokesperson of Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.

Santos currently serves as Nartatez’s Senior Police Assistant. Nartatez also sits as an ex-officio commissioner of NAPOLCOM.

According to the commission, Santos has been helping advance reforms centered on accountability, discipline, strategic communication, and stronger coordination between NAPOLCOM and the PNP.

Before his new designation, Santos served as provincial director of the Cavite Police Provincial Office and as regional chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Regional Field Units 4A and 7.

As acting spokesperson, Santos will be tasked with relaying Nartatez’s directives, policy statements, operational updates, and reform initiatives to the public and the media.

NAPOLCOM Vice Chairperson and Executive Officer Ralph Calinisan expressed confidence that Santos would help strengthen public trust in the police organization through credible, clear, and people-centered communication.
