NBI, CRC Ink Agreement Versus Online Child Exploitation

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has strengthened its campaign against online child exploitation through a partnership with the Child Rescue Coalition, Inc. (CRC).

NBI Director Atty. Melvin Matibag and CRC Executive Officer Greg Schiller signed the agreement at the NBI headquarters in Pasay City.

As part of the deal, CRC will donate digital forensic tools, including an MSAB XRY system, to enhance the NBI’s capability to extract and analyze digital evidence in cases involving online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC).

The NBI said the technology will support more effective investigations by its Violence Against Women and Children Division and Human Trafficking Division.

“This collaboration significantly boosts our ability to combat child exploitation in the digital space and protect vulnerable victims,” Matibag said.

The partnership also covers intelligence sharing, specialized training for NBI personnel, and improved coordination with international law enforcement agencies.

“CRC is here to help. Live-streaming child sexual abuse is a global problem. Our partnership in the Philippines not only saves children’s lives but also helps identify the global buyers fueling this epidemic,” Schiller said.
