The Marikina City Government has granted business tax exemptions and free business permits to qualified sari-sari store and carinderia owners as part of its support for micro and small enterprises.
Mayor Maan Teodoro and Marikina Rep. Marcy Teodoro led the distribution of Business Tax Exemption Certificates and free business permits to eligible beneficiaries.
According to the city government, the initiative is meant to ease the financial burden on small business owners by exempting qualified establishments from business taxes and providing them with free business permits.
The program also seeks to help small entrepreneurs continue their operations and expand their businesses.
The city government said the initiative forms part of Marikina’s broader efforts to strengthen micro and small enterprises, promote local entrepreneurship, and improve the livelihoods of families by supporting community-based businesses.
