President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. met with top leaders of the real estate and infrastructure industries on Tuesday to press for the rapid expansion and accelerated development of affordable housing options for everyday Filipinos.

The President convened the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) Infrastructure Sector Group – Real Estate at Malacañang Palace to address pressing structural hurdles and tap into emerging growth opportunities in the property sector.

According to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), the discussions focused heavily on “measures to make housing more affordable for Filipinos, improve property valuation systems, and strengthen investment inflows into the sector.”

The Palace highlighted that the meeting centered on leveraging strong partnerships between the government and private developers to solve the national housing shortage.

“The discussions also emphasized how collaboration between government and the private sector can help accelerate development and expand access to housing,” the PCO added.

Prior to the roundtable, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro confirmed the participation of key economic and housing cabinet members, including Acting Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling and Department of Economy, Planning and Development (DEPDev) Secretary Arsenio Balisacan.

The meeting was also attended by PSAC Strategic Convener Sabin Aboitiz alongside prominent real estate executives and representatives from major conglomerates, including Alliance Global Incorporated, Ayala Corporation, Ayala Land Incorporated, Robinsons Land Corporation and SM Prime Holdings Incorporated.
