A 36-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly caused a disturbance and assaulted responding police officers in Quezon City early Tuesday, authorities said.
In a report, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio identified the suspect only by the alias “Marvin,” a resident of Barangay Bahay Toro.
According to the QCPD, personnel from the Project 6 Police Station led by Lt. Col. Bryan Angelo Pajarillo responded to an E911 call from a concerned citizen at around 1 a.m. on May 12.
The caller reported an unruly man allegedly under the influence of alcohol who was causing a disturbance along Camia Street in Sitio Militar, Project 8, Barangay Bahay Toro.
Police said responding officers attempted to pacify the suspect, but he allegedly became more aggressive, resisted arrest, and assaulted the operatives.
Despite the resistance, authorities said the officers were able to subdue and arrest the suspect.
The man is set to face complaints before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office for alarm and scandal, resistance and disobedience to a person in authority or agents of a person in authority, and direct assault.
“The QCPD remains committed to responding swiftly to all emergency calls and ensuring that individuals who disrupt public order and assault law enforcement authorities are held accountable under the law,” Silvio said.
