Anti-narcotics authorities dismantled a suspected drug den in Cebu City and separately seized nearly P2.4 million worth of illegal drugs in Davao Oriental in back-to-back operations on June 15 and 16, 2026, underscoring sustained enforcement efforts against street-level distribution and high-value targets.
In Cebu City, operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 7, together with the Cebu City Police Office Station 2, conducted a buy-bust operation at Sitio Brupa, Barangay Sambag II at around 11:44 am on June 15 that led to the arrest of three individuals allegedly caught inside a drug den.
PDEA Region 7 Director Joel Plaza identified the arrested suspects as alias Romeo, 26 years old, described as a conspirator; and aliases Art, 34 years old, and Reynel, 28 years old, both tagged as visitors. All three were reportedly unemployed and residents of the same barangay.
Authorities said the suspected maintainer of the drug den, identified only as alias Jan-Jan, managed to escape and remains at large.
Seized from the operation were nine sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 15 grams with an estimated value of P102,000, along with empty sachets with residue, strips of aluminum foil, buy-bust money, and other paraphernalia.
The suspects are now in PDEA custody in Cebu City while charges are being prepared for violations of Sections 5 and 6 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, including possession, use of a drug den, conspiracy, and related offenses.
A separate operation in Davao Oriental on June 16 yielded a significantly larger haul after anti-narcotics operatives of PDEA Region 11, in coordination with the Mati City Police Station, arrested a 45-year-old woman identified as “Alias Jinky” in Barangay Sainz, Mati City.
Authorities said the suspect was arrested after selling a sachet of suspected shabu worth P1,000 to a poseur-buyer during a buy-bust operation. A follow-up search led to the recovery of five additional sachets containing about 360 grams of suspected methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of P2.448 million, along with drug paraphernalia and marked money.
Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against the suspect.
Authorities said both operations reflect continued pressure on illegal drug networks operating at different levels, from local dens to higher-volume distribution targets, as enforcement agencies sustain coordinated interdiction efforts across the regions.
