Actress and television host Kim Chiu celebrated her 36th birthday on April 19 by distributing free gasoline, meals, and grocery packs to transport workers affected by rising fuel prices.
The activity, held on the same date, was shared through social media posts showing Chiu personally joining the distribution and interacting with beneficiaries.
Instead of a traditional celebration, the actress directed her birthday efforts toward drivers, particularly those operating tricycles and jeepneys, who have been among the sectors most affected by rising fuel costs.

The initiative reached hundreds of drivers, with some reports estimating close to 600 beneficiaries who received assistance in the form of fuel, food, and basic goods.
Photos from the event showed organized distribution points, with stubs indicating schedules and locations for claiming assistance. Chiu was also seen handing out goods and taking photos with drivers.

The outreach comes amid broader concerns over rising fuel prices, which have recently seen weekly adjustments ranging from ₱0.50 to over P2.00 per liter, placing additional pressure on transport workers and low-income sectors.
Chiu remains active across television, streaming, and film. She stars in the romantic thriller The Alibi, which released an extended version in 2026, and is set to appear in the upcoming drama Kopino.
