Business leaders, policymakers, and labor representatives gathered for the 47th National Conference of Employers to discuss key workplace concerns, economic priorities, and measures to strengthen cooperation among government, employers, and workers.

The conference served as a platform for the three sectors to exchange views on pressing issues affecting the labor market and the broader economy. Discussions focused on building stronger partnerships that can support business growth, improve employment conditions, and ensure that worker welfare remains central to policy and industry decisions.

Trade Secretary Cris A. Roque joined the morning session, where participants tackled programs and policy directions aimed at helping enterprises remain competitive while promoting a fair and productive work environment.

The Department of Trade and Industry underscored its continuing commitment to support local businesses as they adapt to changing economic conditions. At the same time, the discussions emphasized the need to balance enterprise development with the protection and welfare of Filipino workers.

The NCE47 also provided stakeholders an opportunity to identify shared concerns and propose practical solutions to workplace and employment challenges. Organizers said the inputs, ideas, and agreements raised during the session will be consolidated into joint resolutions and policy recommendations.

These proposals are expected to help guide future labor policies, strengthen public-private collaboration, and support programs that promote productivity, decent work, and sustained economic momentum.

The conference highlighted the importance of continued dialogue among government agencies, business groups, and labor organizations as the country works to build a more inclusive, resilient, and competitive labor environment.
