As the country celebrates its 128th Philippine Independence Day, Filipinos are urged to ensure that freedom translates into real opportunities and improvements in daily life, emphasizing that independence is incomplete if its benefits are not felt by all.
Freedom, according to House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III, should serve as a foundation for shared progress and nation-building. Beyond commemorating the nation’s struggle for self-rule, true independence is reflected in a society that works together to build a stronger, more just, and resilient country.
Independence becomes meaningful when it opens opportunities for families to access decent jobs, quality education, and a better future. Citizens are encouraged to use the liberties they enjoy in the service of the nation and the common good, ensuring that the fruits of freedom reach every home and community.
The House Speaker also underscored the importance of honoring the sacrifices of the country’s heroes by committing to the ongoing task of building a stronger, more prosperous, and united Philippines.
