House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” G. Dy III on Sunday congratulated Filipino tennis star Alex Eala following her latest Wimbledon victory, saying her historic campaign has brought pride to the country and inspired young Filipinos to dream bigger.
“Congratulations, Alex! Once again, you have made your kababayan proud. Sa bawat panalo mo, ipinapakita mo sa buong mundo ang husay, tapang, at determinasyon ng Pilipino,” Dy said in his message.
The Speaker said Eala’s Wimbledon run has gone beyond the tennis court, describing her as a symbol of perseverance, excellence, and belief for the next generation of Filipino athletes.
“You are not only winning matches—you are winning hearts around the world and inspiring countless young Filipinos to dream big and believe in what they can achieve,” the House leader added.
Dy also assured Eala that the Filipino people remain behind her as she continues her bid for more history at Wimbledon.
“Laban lang, Alex! Kasama mo ang sambayanang Pilipino sa bawat hakbang ng makasaysayang kampanyang ito. Nandito kaming lahat, buong pusong sumusuporta sa’yo.”
