The Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group arrested a wanted person in Pangasinan over charges linked to a fatal road incident in Pampanga.
The suspect was arrested by personnel of the Pangasinan Provincial Highway Patrol Team under the Regional Highway Patrol Unit 1 during an operation in Barangay Agdao, San Carlos City, Pangasinan, at around 6:30 p.m. on June 9.
The arrest was carried out based on a warrant issued on June 8 by Judge Hermielita Meneses of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Sto. Tomas-Minalin, Pampanga.
The warrant covered charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide under Criminal Case No. 26-27 and violation of Article 275 of the Revised Penal Code, or abandonment of persons in danger and abandonment of one’s own victim, under Criminal Case No. 26-28.
The court recommended bail of P60,000 for each offense.
The arrested individual is now under the custody of the Pangasinan Provincial Highway Patrol Team for documentation and proper disposition before being presented to the issuing court.
PNP-HPG director Brig. Gen. Rommel Batangan commended the operating personnel for the successful implementation of the warrant.
“The swift and lawful arrest of wanted persons reflects our commitment to upholding justice and ensuring accountability through professional police operations,” Batangan said.
“We remain steadfast in supporting the rule of law and bringing individuals facing criminal charges before the courts,” he added.
