The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is expanding its rolling store operations across the country to improve access to low-cost basic necessities and prime commodities amid economic pressures from inflation and El Niño.
Trade Secretary Cristina Roque said the program will offer discounted essential goods to consumers, mirroring the framework of the Department of Agriculture’s Kadiwa ng Pangulo initiative.
The mobile market rollout aims to protect consumer purchasing power by making basic staples more affordable and mitigating the financial strain of rising living costs and climate-related disruptions on Filipino households.
The agency advised the public to check its official website and social media channels for real-time updates regarding deployment schedules and venue locations.
The DTI also urged consumers to refrain from hoarding discounted commodities to ensure equitable distribution and access for all buyers.
