The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has provided more than half a million pesos in assistance to families and individuals affected by the collapse of a nine-storey building in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City.
Based on data from the DSWD’s Disaster Response Operations Monitoring, Information, and Communication Division as of Wednesday, the agency has released P561,959 worth of humanitarian aid to 54 affected persons.
The assistance includes family food packs and ready-to-eat food boxes for residents displaced by the incident.
Of the affected individuals, 24 remain displaced. Twelve are staying in temporary shelters at the Barangay Balibago hall, while 12 others are temporarily living with relatives or friends.
The nine-storey structure collapsed before dawn on May 24, leaving four people dead and 16 others missing.
The DSWD said it continues to monitor the needs of the affected residents as local authorities and responders deal with the aftermath of the deadly collapse.
