The House of Representatives on Monday formally honored Filipino girl group BINI for becoming the first Filipino pop act to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California.

Lawmakers welcomed the group during plenary following the adoption of House Resolution No. 1001, which recognized BINI for its international achievement and contribution to promoting Filipino music and culture on the global stage.

The resolution described the group’s Coachella appearance as a milestone for Original Pilipino Music (OPM) and a reflection of the growing global reach of Filipino artists.

“The success of BINI at Coachella 2026 serves as a source of immense national pride, proving that Filipino musicality and artistry can compete and excel at the highest levels of the international entertainment industry,” the resolution stated.

The House also recognized BINI’s role in expanding the global presence of P-Pop and inspiring aspiring Filipino performers and creatives.

BINI made history after performing at Coachella on April 10 and 17, becoming the first all-Filipino pop group to appear at one of the world’s most influential music festivals.

The group delivered a 45-minute set at the Mojave Stage, debuting its single “Blush” from the EP Signals while performing hit songs such as “Pantropiko,” “Karera,” and “Salamin, Salamin.”

Lawmakers said the performance showcased Filipino talent before a global audience attending the festival in person and through international livestreams.

The House also emphasized that supporting Filipino arts and culture aligns with the Constitution’s mandate to promote and preserve national culture.

Often referred to as the “Nation’s Girl Group,” BINI has emerged as one of the leading acts in the growing P-Pop industry, which continues to gain international recognition alongside other Asian pop movements.
