Police arrested one of Central Visayas’ most wanted fugitives during a joint law enforcement operation in San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan, the Philippine National Police said.
The PNP identified the suspect only by the alias “Eboy,” listed as the No. 9 Regional Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 7 for the first quarter of 2026.
Authorities said the suspect was arrested on July 3 in Barangay Fatima I by virtue of arrest warrants for murder issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 57 in Cebu City.
The operation was led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Bulacan Provincial Field Unit, with tactical support from the 2nd Special Action Battalion of the Special Action Force and other PNP units.
After his arrest, the suspect was placed under the custody of the CIDG Bulacan Provincial Field Unit for documentation and legal processing before being turned over to the issuing court.
PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the arrest showed the police force’s commitment to tracking down fugitives facing serious criminal charges.
“This arrest reflects the PNP’s unwavering resolve to locate and apprehend fugitives facing serious criminal charges wherever they may be found. Through sustained law enforcement efforts, we will continue to pursue wanted persons and ensure they answer before the courts,” Nartatez said.
“Tungkulin nating tiyakin na ang bawat akusado ay haharap sa hukuman. Sa pagtutulungan ng ating mga yunit, mas napapalakas natin ang pagpapatupad ng batas,” he added.
The PNP said the operation forms part of its intensified campaign against wanted persons and other lawless elements through intelligence-driven operations under its Enhanced Managing Police Operations program.
The police organization said it would continue efforts to locate and arrest wanted persons nationwide in line with its campaign, “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”
