Cebu Pacific Passenger Traffic Rises 4.7% in July on Strong Domestic Demand

Cebu Pacific reported a 4.7 percent increase in passenger traffic for July, carrying over 2.2 million passengers compared to 2.1 million in the same period last year. Strong domestic demand offset a drop in international travel, driving the airline’s overall seat load factor to 84.4 percent on a 6.2 percent increase in seat capacity.

Domestic passenger traffic rose 9.1 percent to 1.73 million with an 84.5 percent seat load factor. Conversely, international traffic fell 8.6 percent to 531,000 as the airline cut international capacity by 16.9 percent, which helped lift the international seat load factor by 7.6 percentage points to 83.8 percent.

For the first seven months of 2026, total passengers reached over 16.7 million, up 4.3 percent year-on-year.

“We delivered continued passenger growth in July supported by a strong rebound in the domestic market,” said Cebu Pacific president and chief commercial officer Xander Lao.

Lao noted that domestic growth reflected resilient demand across its network, while international drops aligned with planned capacity cuts that yielded stronger load factors.

Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, the airline plans to expand its network by launching new flights to destinations in China, Vietnam, and Japan to “strengthen connectivity while providing passengers with more convenient and affordable travel options.”

Cebu Pacific currently serves 36 domestic and 25 international destinations, maintaining “the widest network coverage among Philippine carriers” alongside “one of the youngest fleets in the world.”
