The Philippine Army’s Special Forces Regiment (Airborne) (SFR[A]) marked its 64th founding anniversary with a ceremony at Fort Magsaysay in Palayan City, Nueva Ecija on June 25, 2026, honoring its personnel and partners for decades of service and operational excellence.
Army Chief Lt. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete, who served as guest of honor and speaker, commended the unit for its long-standing contribution to the country’s special operations capability and its role in addressing evolving security challenges.
He praised the discipline and professionalism of Special Forces personnel, noting their often quiet but critical contributions to military operations.
“Your Philippine Army still hears you loud and clear, and we listen. We fully support you and your efforts as we face the challenges of the future,” Nafarrete said.
The Army chief highlighted the regiment’s six decades of specialized operations, underscoring its importance in maintaining mission readiness and strengthening the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ (AFP) defense posture in a shifting operational environment.
During the ceremony, outstanding officers, enlisted personnel, reservists, retirees, civilian human resources, and stakeholders were also recognized for their service and contributions to the unit’s mission.
The Philippine Army said the anniversary reflects the enduring legacy of the Special Forces Regiment and its continued role in supporting national security objectives and operational readiness.
