The Philippine Army honored Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. with a testimonial parade and review at its headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
Philippine Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete led officers, enlisted personnel and civilian employees in paying tribute to Brawner, who previously served as the Army’s 65th commanding general.
During the ceremony, Nafarrete recognized Brawner’s years of military service and his contributions to the Army’s peace initiatives and personnel development programs.
His leadership was anchored on the “SERVE” mantra: taking care of soldiers’ morale and welfare; enhancing individual skills and unit competencies; pushing mission-essential resources to units nationwide; emerging victorious against local terrorist groups; and attaining operational excellence.
Brawner expressed confidence that the Philippine Army would continue serving the country with courage, professionalism and love of nation.
He also thanked the Army’s personnel for their unwavering commitment to their mission of serving the people and securing the land.
