The Philippine Army’s Artillery Regiment is moving to strengthen its coordination with the 11th Infantry “Alakdan” Division as military units in Western Mindanao continue to sustain security operations in the region.

Brig. Gen. Hubert S. Acierto, Commander of the Artillery Regiment, visited the 11th Infantry Division headquarters at Kuta Heneral Teodulfo Bautista in Barangay Busbus, Jolo, Sulu, on June 29, 2026.

Acierto was accorded foyer honors upon arrival before meeting with senior officers of the division to discuss operational readiness, capability development, and efforts to improve coordination and interoperability between the Artillery Regiment and the 11th ID.

Col. Ferdinand Rey G. Ga, Assistant Division Commander for Administration and Operations, welcomed Acierto on behalf of Maj. Gen. Leonardo I. Peña, Commander of the 11th Infantry Division and Joint Task Force Orion.

Ga conveyed Peña’s appreciation for the Artillery Regiment’s continued support to Army operations, stressing the need for sustained collaboration among major units in responding to evolving security challenges and ensuring mission success.

Acierto, for his part, reaffirmed the Artillery Regiment’s commitment to provide responsive and reliable fire support capabilities to troops on the ground.

He also underscored the need to further enhance cooperation with the Alakdan Division in sustaining peace, security, and development across its area of responsibility.

The visit highlighted the continuing partnership between the Artillery Regiment and the 11th Infantry Division, particularly in strengthening interoperability and improving the operational effectiveness of Army forces in Western Mindanao.
