Police Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano officially assumed post as acting director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Sunday, promising a responsive and disciplined police force for Metro Manila.
Abrahano replaced retired Major General Anthony Aberin during a ceremony presided over by Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.
“To the people of Metro Manila, you should expect their police to be present, responsive, professional, and respectful,” Abrahano said, emphasizing that residents will not need connections to receive proper service under his leadership.
Guided by a “prepare, prevent, and respond” operational strategy, Abrahano warned that while officers acting in good faith will have full leadership backing, those who engage in corruption or abuse their authority will face swift punishment.
“If you are right, we are going to support you. If not, we’re going to punish you. That is going to be our standard practice,” he said.
A PNP Academy Class of 1996 graduate, Abrahano previously led the Northern Mindanao Police Regional Office, the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), the Caraga Police Regional Office and the PNP Aviation Security Group.
