Police officers in Cabangan, Zambales quickly came to the aid of a young girl who fainted along the road in Barangay Sto. Niño on the morning of May 23.
According to the Philippine National Police, PSMS Jerome Layda and PSSg Mamerson Borja of the Cabangan Municipal Police Station were conducting a checkpoint operation when they noticed the unconscious child by the roadside.
The officers immediately approached the girl, carried her into a mobile patrol vehicle, and brought her to the nearest medical facility for urgent attention.
Authorities said the child is now safe, in stable condition, and has returned home.
PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. commended the police officers for their quick response, saying the incident showed that compassion and readiness to help remain part of police duty.
He added that even simple acts of assistance help the public feel that police officers can be relied upon in times of need.
The PNP said it continues to promote fast, humane, and responsive public service under its community-centered policing programs.
