More than 33,000 senior citizens in Taguig City have already received free flu vaccines under the city government’s ongoing vaccination campaign aimed at protecting elderly residents from influenza and pneumonia-related complications.

As of May 19, 2026, a total of 33,734 senior citizens had been vaccinated through the program dubbed “Taguig Flu-Tektado sina Lola at Lolo: Flu, Malalabanan! Komplikasyong Pneumonia, Maiiwasan!”

The City of Taguig said the initiative remains part of its continuing public health efforts to safeguard vulnerable sectors, particularly senior citizens who are at greater risk of severe illness during flu season.

City officials continue to encourage all 120,000 registered senior citizens in Taguig to avail themselves of the free vaccination program for added protection against influenza and possible complications such as pneumonia.

The local government said flu vaccination plays an important role in reducing hospitalizations and serious respiratory illnesses among the elderly, especially those with existing health conditions.

The vaccination drive is being conducted in coordination with local health personnel and community-based health programs to ensure that vaccines remain accessible to senior citizens across the city’s barangays.

Taguig City has continued to expand preventive healthcare initiatives in recent years, including immunization campaigns, free medical services, and community wellness programs aimed at improving healthcare access for residents.

Officials reiterated their appeal for senior citizens and their families to participate in the vaccination campaign, stressing the importance of early protection during the flu season.
