PNP Warns Personnel Against Political Posts Amid ICC Issue

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has reminded its personnel to remain politically neutral and exercise caution in their social media activity as public debate intensifies over the International Criminal Court (ICC) issue involving Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said officers are expected to uphold professionalism at all times and avoid online posts or statements that could compromise the neutrality and integrity of the organization.

“All PNP personnel are reminded to remain politically neutral and professional at all times, especially on social media platforms,” Nartatez said.

The ICC issue has triggered intense political discussion online, with some police personnel drawing attention for commentary and posts on personal accounts and digital platforms.

Nartatez warned that social media activity by police officers could be interpreted by the public as reflecting the official position of the PNP.
