The Philippine National Police (PNP) confirmed that authorities have identified one of the suspects involved in the fatal shooting of billiards personality Perry Mariano and his driver along Timog Avenue in Quezon City.

According to PNP spokesperson Police Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño, the identification was made through latent fingerprints recovered from a motorcycle believed to have been used by the suspects and later abandoned on April 28.

“The identification was based on latent fingerprints recovered from the abandoned motorcycle,” Tuaño said, noting that this development is expected to aid ongoing operations.

However, authorities have withheld further details about the suspect’s identity as police continue their manhunt operations. The Quezon City Police District is leading efforts to track down the individuals behind the attack.

PNP chief Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. has ordered intensified police operations to ensure the immediate arrest of those responsible. Investigators are also exploring several possible motives behind the killing, including angles related to business dealings.

The victims, Mariano and his driver, Norberto Orimaco, were reportedly shot multiple times by riding-in-tandem assailants while traveling along Timog Avenue in Quezon City. After the attack, the suspects abandoned their motorcycle and fled the scene using other means of transportation.

The PNP assured the public that efforts are ongoing to bring the perpetrators to justice, while urging anyone with information about the incident to coordinate with authorities.
