QC Expands Anti-Trafficking Drive, Opens QC SAFE Seal Applications

The Quezon City government has intensified its campaign against human trafficking by opening applications for the Quezon City Stop All Forms of Exploitation (QC SAFE) Seal, a program aimed at strengthening safeguards in hotels and other accommodation establishments.

Mayor Joy Belmonte announced the initiative over the weekend, highlighting the role of hotels, inns, and apartelles in helping prevent exploitation.

“We count on our accommodation establishments as a vital line of defense against human trafficking,” Belmonte said.

Under the QC SAFE Seal program, participating establishments are encouraged to adopt key protective measures, including staff training to detect signs of exploitation, stricter check-in protocols for minors, visible child protection notices, and the designation of a safeguarding officer.

Belmonte said the seal serves as a mark of compliance with the city’s safety standards.

“The QC SAFE Seal signals that an establishment meets the city’s standards for safety and protection, making it a trusted space for guests,” she added.

To boost participation, the city government is offering incentives such as faster business permit processing, inclusion in tourism promotion campaigns, and eligibility for recognition and possible tax perks based on compliance.

The program is part of Quezon City’s broader efforts to combat human trafficking and ensure safer environments for residents and visitors.
