Residents in parts of Metro Manila and Rizal are advised to prepare for scheduled water service interruptions this week as Manila Water Company Inc. carries out maintenance and leak detection activities.
In an advisory, the company said the interruptions are due to “step testing,” a process used to detect and isolate leaks in the distribution system, as well as other maintenance works aimed at improving service reliability.
In Quezon City, several areas will experience water interruptions overnight. Residents in Teachers Village East and West, UP Campus, San Vicente, and Old Capitol Site will have no water from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. from May 5 to 6 due to step-testing activities along Maginhawa Street corner Masaya Street.
Additional areas in Barangays Culiat and Vasra will be affected from May 5 to 7 during the same hours. Parts of Barangay South Triangle will also experience interruptions from May 7 to 8 as maintenance continues along Timog Avenue corner Tomas Morato Avenue.
Outside Quezon City, portions of Rosario, Manggahan, and Maybunga in Pasig City will have water interruptions from May 4 to 5, while parts of Marikina Heights in Marikina City are scheduled for service disruptions from May 5 to 6.
In San Juan City, villages including Balong-Bato, San Perfecto, Progreso, Rivera, and Pedro Cruz will be affected from May 7 to 8 due to maintenance along F. Roman Street corner Aurora Boulevard. Barangay Central Signal in Taguig City will also experience interruptions during the same period.
In Rizal province, portions of Barangay Sto. Domingo in Cainta will have water interruptions from May 4 to 5 due to a line meter replacement, while Barangays San Roque and San Andres will be affected from May 6 to 7.
“Step-testing activities are necessary to improve service reliability by identifying leaks and ensuring efficient water distribution,” Manila Water said.
Residents in affected areas are advised to store enough water ahead of the scheduled interruptions and use supply responsibly.
