Authorities seized more than P7.4 million worth of suspected shabu and arrested two high-value targets in a pre-dawn buy-bust operation in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, in what police described as a major blow to illegal drug distribution in the province.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) conducted the operation at 12:56 a.m. in Purok 3, Barangay Dampas. The sting led to the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of approximately 1,096.9 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P7,458,920.
The operation was carried out by joint elements of the Tagbilaran City Police Station, the Bohol Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit, the Police Regional Office 7 Drug Enforcement Unit, and the PNP Drug Enforcement Group–Special Operations Unit 7.
Police also recovered marked buy-bust money and other items believed to be linked to illegal drug activity. The suspects and seized evidence are now under the custody of Tagbilaran police for documentation and the filing of charges.
Authorities said the operation highlights continued intelligence-driven efforts to dismantle drug networks at the community level, in line with the PNP’s focused anti-drug operations.
PNP chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the operation reflects the organization’s sustained campaign to curb the flow of illegal drugs.
He added that anti-drug operations will remain relentless, with the goal of protecting communities and preventing the spread of illegal substances.
The operation forms part of intensified nationwide anti-drug efforts under the Marcos administration, with the PNP reiterating its commitment to “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas,” anchored on fast, honest, and visible public service.
