Tinio Flags ‘Copy-Paste’ Duterte SALNs Over Identical Assets Across Years

ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. Antonio Tinio on Wednesday questioned the accuracy and completeness of Vice President Sara Duterte’s Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALNs), citing multiple years with identical asset declarations.

Tinio described the entries as “copy-paste,” noting that the Office of the Ombudsman had confirmed several SALNs reflected the same amounts for real and personal assets, as well as identical lists of properties across different years.

During clarificatory questioning at the House Committee on Justice, Tinio pointed out that Duterte’s declared real and personal assets for 2019 and 2020 were identical, while her personal asset declarations for 2021 and 2022 also showed no changes. The Ombudsman likewise verified matching real asset entries for 2009 to 2011 and for 2016 and 2017.

“This pattern strongly suggests that the Vice President’s SALNs may not have been properly accomplished and filed,” Tinio said. “If multiple years reflect exactly the same totals and items, down to the last peso, the public is entitled to ask whether these were accurately prepared or simply repeated without proper updating.”

He urged Duterte to directly address the discrepancies by presenting complete and consistent records, ideally by appearing in the ongoing impeachment proceedings.

“Pinakamadaling linawin ito kung haharap at magpapaliwanag nang diretso,” Tinio said. “Ipakita ang kumpletong SALN at suportang dokumento, at itigil ang pag-iwas sa pananagutan.”

Tinio added that both Congress and the public must remain vigilant, stressing that accountability should be anchored on evidence, transparency, and the public interest.
