At least 48,722 voters have registered for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliamentary elections scheduled later this year, according to the Commission on Elections.
The poll body said the registrants filed their applications between February 9 and March 6 as voter registration continues across the region.
Registration for the BARMM elections will remain open until March 31, giving residents additional time to sign up ahead of the polls.
Data from Comelec showed that Maguindanao del Norte recorded the highest number of registrants with 11,206.
This was followed by Lanao del Sur with 11,094 registrants and Basilan with 7,625.
Other areas also recorded thousands of applications, including Maguindanao del Sur with 6,913 registrants and Tawi-Tawi with 6,255.
Meanwhile, the Special Geographic Area logged 5,629 registrants as residents continue to participate in the voter registration process.
The Comelec has earlier urged residents in the Bangsamoro region to register in preparation for upcoming elections, including the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan polls.
The youth elections were originally scheduled in 2025 but were moved to this year after the passage of Republic Act No. 12232.
