The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) is investigating the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into its digital software development after successfully creating a functional application during a practical training session in Makati City.

CFO staff attended the IBM Bobathon, an event managed by Questionrix that highlighted IBM Bob, an agentic artificial intelligence platform engineered to aid software engineering and expedite the rollout of digital platforms.

The interactive workshop enabled participants to evaluate AI-assisted programming firsthand by deploying the platform to construct a live software application. The session allowed the agency to assess how modern tools can advance its broader digital transformation agenda.

During the event, the CFO analyzed how AI software can optimize developer workflows, accelerate product prototyping, and unlock fresh pathways to improve internal agency operations alongside public service channels.

The session further allowed CFO representatives to interact with fellow attendees and evaluate emerging practical applications for AI technology in public sector software design.

The experience allowed the Commission to weigh how AI-supported application development might advance its prospective digital projects and enhance administrative efficiency across government services.

While the session primarily focused on testing technical capabilities, the CFO’s involvement demonstrated its intention to evaluate how modern AI frameworks might be integrated into future government tools and ongoing public service enhancements.
