The Return of FHM: How the Iconic Men’s Lifestyle Brand Is Reimagining Pop Culture for a New Digital Generation

For a generation of Filipinos, FHM was more than just a magazine, it was an era. From its defining cover stories to its influence on style, fitness, nightlife and pop culture, the brand held an undisputed grip on the local media landscape. Now, under PlayTime Entertainment, FHM is staging a comeback, but not as you remember it.

Stepping into the digital-first era, FHM is returning to the Philippines with a bold strategy that turns the traditional magazine model completely on its head: Creator-First, Moment-First.

Historically, traditional print media operated on a simple formula where you write the story, print the pages and wait for the audience to read it. The new FHM flips that script entirely.

The idea is both simple and radical, live the content first, then publish it.

Instead of merely reporting on the scene, FHM is positioning itself to create the scene. Where it will drive real-world activations, exclusive events, gamified online experiences and signature “FHM Nights.” Only after these moments unfold will they be curated and published across digital platforms, eventually compiled into digital albums, complete with a super-exclusive, limited run of 50 signed physical copies for ultimate brand loyalists.

If it’s on FHM, it means it already happened and you missed out if you weren’t paying attention.

A New Era of Covers, Creators and “FHM After Hours”

In keeping with its evolution, FHM’s iconic cover tradition is getting a modern upgrade. Every month, the platform will spotlight a new cover girl drawn from a fresh wave of talent including high-profile artists, Multi-Channel Network (MCN) creators and top Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). Beyond the cover, newly voted talents will earn coveted spots in monthly digital albums, giving emerging creators a massive stage to shine.

Meanwhile, the classic, candid conversations that once defined the magazine’s inner pages covering everything from style and tech to fitness, dating and nightlife are moving to audio and video. Enter FHM After Hours, a new slate of podcast shows designed to host unfiltered, engaging discussions for today’s hyper-connected audience.

The brand’s resurrection marks a strategic move for PlayTime Entertainment, which aims to blend offline real-world experiences with modern digital storytelling and premium brand partnerships.

“FHM has a distinct identity and a strong place in Filipino pop culture,” says Crisanto Roy Alcid, President of PlayTime Entertainment. “We’ve turned the magazine model around: we make the moment first and share it second. Nothing like it exists in the Philippines today and we’re excited to bring it to longtime fans and a new generation.”

Alcid adds that while the platform stays true to its iconic heritage, it gives audiences entirely new ways to participate, interact and start conversations.

For longtime fans and a new digital generation alike, one thing is clear: FHM isn’t just back, it’s building the party and everyone is invited to watch it unfold.
