Senator Christopher “Bong” Go has called on the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to strictly enforce and monitor compliance with the newly implemented ₱60 daily wage increase for minimum wage earners in the National Capital Region.
The lawmaker emphasized that labor officials and regional wage boards must actively oversee implementation across businesses to guarantee that private sector workers receive the statutory pay adjustment without unnecessary delays.
“Kailangan magpatuloy ang DOLE at mga wage board sa pagmamanman sa kalagayan ng sahod upang matiyak na ang mga wage adjustment ay aktuwal na nakatutulong sa mga manggagawa sa harap ng patuloy na pagtaas ng gastusin,” Go said.
He also said that strict administrative oversight remains essential to protecting the purchasing power of low-income families navigating elevated costs for basic goods and household services.
The salary adjustment follows the issuance of the latest regional wage order, which provides wage relief to approximately 1.1 million minimum wage workers across Metro Manila.
Go reaffirmed his commitment to supporting legislative and executive measures aimed at safeguarding worker welfare, noting that government oversight must remain vigilant to ensure total compliance among employers.
