The Department of Education (DepEd) confirmed that public school teachers nationwide will each receive a P1,000 cash incentive in recognition of their dedication as the month-long National Teachers’ Month celebration concludes.
Education Secretary Sonny Angara announced that all public school teachers in the country are entitled to the benefit, which serves as a token of appreciation for their service and commitment to guiding learners throughout the academic year.
Angara noted that the P1,000 grant maintains the same allocation disbursed during last year’s National Teachers’ Month and World Teachers’ Day celebrations.
DepEd expects to allocate between P900 million and P1 billion to fund the World Teachers’ Day Incentive Benefit (WTDIB) across public primary and secondary schools.
The incentive forms part of the agency’s annual efforts under DepEd Order No. 26, series of 2019, to honor educators and highlight their central role in sustaining the national education system.
