A major command reshuffle involving eight senior police officials, including top three-star generals, took effect following approval from Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.
The structural adjustments were primarily initiated by the mandatory retirement of PNP Deputy Chief for Administration Lieutenant General Bernard Banac.
Under the new command hierarchy, PNP Deputy Chief for Operations Lieutenant General Wilson Joseph Ferrer steps up as Banac’s successor, assuming the second-highest post in the police organization.
Taking over Ferrer’s previous post as Deputy Chief for Operations is Lieutenant General Neri Vincent Ignacio, who previously served as the police force’s number three official as Chief of the Directorial Staff. Major General Redrico Maranan, outgoing Director of the PNP Academy (PNPA), has been designated to fill Ignacio’s vacancy as the new PNP Chief Directorial Staff.
The command adjustments ripple through regional and operational units as well:
Brigadier General Ericson Dilag: Outgoing Director for Information and Communications Technology Management, steps in as the new PNPA Director.
Brigadier General Leon Victor Rosete: Outgoing Davao Police Regional Office Director, takes over Dilag’s former post in Information and Communications Technology Management.
Brigadier General Benigno Guzman: Outgoing Director of the Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG), replaces Rosete as the new Regional Director for the Davao Police.
Colonel Ranie Hachuela: Outgoing Deputy Chief for Administration of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), assumes command as the new PSPG Director.
Brigadier General Froilan Navarroza: Previously attached to the Office of the Director for Logistics, has been appointed Deputy Director for Comptrollership.
The reassignment orders were officially signed “by command” of Nartatez by PNP Director for Personnel and Records Management Major General Jaysen De Guzman.
