The Pasig City government has formally served a notice of termination to Eah Builders following what municipal officials characterized as unacceptable delays across multiple public works initiatives in the city.
Mayor Vico Sotto confirmed that the local chief executive plans to blacklist the construction firm due to lagging progress and unfulfilled operational timelines.
Among the affected public works is the RCBC Drainage System and Sidewalk project in Barangay Buting, which remains stuck at 49% completion after suffering delays exceeding one year.
A similar situation persists in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, where the Interior Roads and Drainage System project is currently only 46% complete despite being overdue by more than a year.
Meanwhile, in Barangay Maybunga, the Road Reblocking and Drainage project has reached 80% completion, though it has likewise been delayed for over a year.
City administrators had previously dispatched formal notices of delay to Eah Builders; however, the contractor repeatedly requested time extensions rather than resolving the bottlenecks.
Upon completion of the contract cancellation process, the city government will contract a new builder to execute and finish the remaining scope of work.
He noted that the local government is concurrently enhancing its project monitoring and oversight framework to ensure municipal programs are completed properly and transparently.
Sotto extended an apology to Pasig residents affected by the stalled public works, appealing for their patience and understanding as the city government addresses the backlog.
