The Philippine National Police (PNP) commended the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) after a series of anti-illegal drug operations in Western Visayas led to the confiscation of more than P24.2 million worth of suspected illegal drugs and the arrest of 82 individuals.
From July 1 to 15, 2026, authorities conducted 61 anti-illegal drug operations across the region, resulting in the recovery of around 3,569.02 grams of suspected shabu and 21 grams of marijuana.
Among those arrested were 35 High-Value Individuals (HVIs) and 45 listed drug personalities allegedly involved as pushers, reflecting continued efforts to disrupt the illegal drug trade in Western Visayas.
The Iloilo Police Provincial Office recorded the largest volume of suspected shabu recovered during the operations, followed by the Iloilo City Police Office and the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6.
The PNP said the operations were conducted under its Focused Agenda, particularly the Enhanced Managing Police Operations pillar, which emphasizes intelligence-driven enforcement and coordinated police actions in support of the administration’s peace and order initiatives.
PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. praised the operating units for their sustained efforts and reiterated that the campaign against illegal drugs remains focused on protecting communities and upholding the rule of law.
“Maganda ang resulta ng mga operasyong ito dahil mas maraming komunidad ang nagiging ligtas. Pero hindi tayo titigil dito. Patuloy nating palalakasin ang ating kampanya laban sa illegal na droga sa pamamagitan ng maayos, legal, at intelligence-driven na operasyon. Ang layunin natin ay protektahan ang bawat pamilyang Pilipino,” Nartatez said.
The PNP chief also reminded police personnel to maintain professionalism and respect the rights of all individuals during law enforcement operations.
“Ang tagumpay ng isang operasyon ay hindi lang nasusukat sa dami ng nakukumpiska o naaaresto. Mahalaga ring tiyakin na bawat aksyon ng pulis ay naaayon sa batas at may paggalang sa karapatan ng lahat,” he added.
The PNP assured the public that anti-illegal drug operations will continue nationwide as part of its efforts to promote safer communities under the “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”
