Singtel Group has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Philippines’ digital transformation and expanding the country’s technology infrastructure following a meeting with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in Singapore.

Marcos was in Singapore for a working visit from July 14 to 16.

During the meeting, Singtel Group Chief Executive Officer Yuen Kuan Moon, Globe Telecom President and CEO Carl Cruz, and Ayala Corporation Vice Chairman Fernando Zobel de Ayala discussed the group’s continued investments in telecommunications, digital services and data centers.

The investments are expected to generate high-value jobs and further strengthen the Philippine digital economy.

Company executives highlighted the establishment of NCS Philippines, a joint venture between Singtel’s technology services arm NCS, and Globe Telecom’s Yondu.

The partnership expanded NCS’ Philippine workforce from 150 to 1,200 professionals, significantly strengthening its capabilities in digital, cloud and artificial intelligence services.

Singtel also cited the expansion of ST Telemedia Global Data Centers in the Philippines through the new STT Fairview facility in Quezon City and the STT Cavite 2 development.

The projects are expected to improve the country’s digital infrastructure and reinforce the Philippines’ position as an emerging regional hub for data centers and other technology investments.

Singtel is committed to further expanding its investments and operations in the country, including additional support for digital infrastructure development through NCS.

The company said its continued investments reflect Singapore’s sustained confidence in the Philippine economy while contributing to digital transformation, high-value employment and long-term technology infrastructure growth.

Singtel executives also reaffirmed their support for Globe Telecom as the company continues investing in the network infrastructure needed to support the country’s expanding digital economy.
