A total of 619 members of the ISMAR Homeowners Association in Barangay Kalawaan moved closer to owning the land they have long occupied after receiving lease-purchase agreements from the Pasig City Government on July 14.
The agreements were awarded under the city’s Community-Initiated Housing Development Program, created through Pasig City Ordinance No. 76, Series of 2024.
The program provides informal settler families with secure land tenure through affordable financing arrangements that allow them to legally acquire their residential lots.
The distribution was led by the Pasig City mayor, together with officials and personnel from the Pasig Urban Settlements Office. Beneficiaries and other ISMAR HOA residents attended the activity.
Under the agreements, beneficiaries will begin paying for their lots based on the stipulated terms and conditions. Full payment will pave the way for the eventual transfer of land ownership.
Before the awarding, the city government, through PUSO and in coordination with the Office of the City Mayor–Land Management and Recovery Office, acquired the 23,382.5-square-meter property for inclusion in the housing program.
The initiative forms part of Pasig City’s continuing efforts to provide families in need with secure, affordable and dignified housing while promoting sustainable community development.
