First Singapore OFWs Complete TESDA Overseas Skills Assessment

  • July 13, 2026

The first batch of overseas Filipino workers in Singapore has completed TESDA’s Overseas Assessment Program, allowing them to undergo competency evaluation and certification without returning to the Philippines.

The program enables qualified OFWs to have their occupational skills formally assessed while remaining in their host country.

Successful candidates may receive national certifications that can strengthen their qualifications, improve employment prospects and support higher earning potential.

TESDA said the credentials may also help workers prepare for jobs or livelihood opportunities upon their return to the Philippines.

The initiative is part of the government’s effort to make skills assessment and certification services more accessible to Filipinos working abroad.

TESDA, led by Secretary Kiko Benitez, said it plans to continue expanding access to industry-recognized certifications for OFWs seeking skills upgrading and career advancement.
